Editorial Policy & Review Methodology

Transparency is the foundation of trust. This page documents exactly how AI Tools Hub evaluates tools, assigns ratings, and maintains editorial independence.

Editorial Independence

AI Tools Hub maintains a strict separation between editorial content and business operations. Our editorial team decides which tools to review, how to rate them, and what to recommend — without input from our business or partnerships teams. Tool companies cannot pay for reviews, ratings, or favorable placement.

If a tool company provides a free account or extended trial for review purposes, we disclose this in the review. Free access does not influence ratings — we have given low ratings to tools that provided free accounts and high ratings to tools we paid for ourselves.

Review Process

1. Tool Selection

We select tools for review based on several factors: market popularity, user requests, category coverage, and notable feature updates. We do not review every tool that exists — we focus on tools that are publicly available, actively maintained, and relevant to our audience.

2. Testing Period

Each tool is tested for a minimum of 2 weeks of active use. During this period, we use the tool for real tasks relevant to its category — not just demo scenarios. For coding tools, we write production code. For writing tools, we create actual content. For image tools, we generate images for real projects.

3. Evaluation Criteria

Tools are scored on five weighted criteria:

4. Rating Assignment

Final ratings are calculated from the weighted criteria scores and then reviewed by the editorial team for context. A tool might score well on individual criteria but receive a lower overall rating due to critical flaws (security issues, deceptive pricing, etc.).

5. Comparative Review

Before publishing, we compare the tool's rating against similar tools in the same category. If a tool scores significantly higher or lower than direct competitors, we re-examine our evaluation to ensure the rating is justified.

Update and Correction Policy

AI tools change rapidly. We commit to:

If you spot an error in one of our reviews, please contact us at editorial@aitoolshub.cn and we will investigate immediately.

Affiliate Disclosure

Some links on AI Tools Hub are affiliate links, meaning we earn a commission if you sign up for a tool through our link. This comes at no additional cost to you and helps fund our independent testing and content production.

Affiliate relationships never influence our ratings. We have given 2/5 ratings to tools with affiliate programs and 5/5 ratings to tools without them. Our editorial integrity is worth more than any individual affiliate commission.

AI Usage Disclosure

We use AI tools in our content production process — it would be hypocritical not to, given our subject matter. However, every article published on AI Tools Hub is researched, fact-checked, and edited by human editors. AI assists with drafting and research; humans ensure accuracy, add original insights, and maintain editorial standards.

If an article was significantly AI-assisted, we note this in the article. We never publish unedited AI-generated content.
